Chopper

Maitre Compactor offers Solid Rotor (SR) and Open Rotor (OR) Heavy Duty Granulators are engineered for years of trouble free operation. This equipment has many features that make them ideal for many applications. They can also be customized to meet your specific needs.

Granulators

Designed for high speed, medium inertia with an open rotor cylinder, and 2, 3 or 5 hardened steel rotating knives, this unit can process material down to 80 mesh up to 2" in size. Interchangeable screens with various size diameter holes determine the final reduction size. With decibel ratings of less than 65 Db, these units are ideal for placement at individual work stations. Granulators are sized by the dimensions of the cutting chamber and range in size from 8" x 10" to 16" x 35". Motor sizes range from 5 HP to 40 HP.

Hog and Grinde

The largest selection of reduction equipment offered, knife hogs use high speed, high inertia design. Solid rotating cylinders are machined from either cast carbon or stainless steel depending on each customer's specifications. The stainless castings are used primarily in munitions grinding and the food industry. Capacities can range from 200 lbs to 20,000 lbs per hour depending on the material being reduced.

The 13 and 14 Series Knife Hogs meet the majority of customer needs and are available in 14 models with or without screens. Feed openings range from 10" x 11" to 20" x 54". Motors are offered from 25 HP to 500 HP.

The 15 series knife hogs are used where tramp, foreign material may present a problem. With breakaway steel struts, any foreign material entering the unit will cause a hinged door to open, allowing the material to escape, saving costly rebuilds. Sizes offered are similar to to those offered with the Series 13 and 14 Knife Hogs.

Maitre compactor has also a Shredder specially designed for the carpet and textile industry. Carpet rolls, loose carpet and other textiles are fed directly into the knife Shredder by a variable speed horizontal conveyor

Dual Shaft

Shredders use low speed, high torque hook shear blades manufactured of high alloy heat treated material mounted on hexagonal shafts. The number of hooks, reach of hooks, and blade thickness are determined by the material being reduced. Counter rotating shafts turn at slightly different speeds increasing the efficiency of the cutting action.

Overloads caused by foreign material stop the forward motion of the motor, reverse to clear the foreign matter, and then forward motion is resumed. Shock loads are negated by a patented ''shock absorber'' drive train. Maitre Compactor offers shredders with cutting chambers ranging in size from 17" x 14" to 60" x 40" with motors from 10 HP to 450 HP
